Combine Fire at Hathaway and Johnson Rd

At approximately 4:40pm Huntertown FD was dispatched on a combine fire at Hathaway and Johnson Rd.  Prior to arriving on scene dispatch advised that the combine was fully envolved.  F-91 requested additional units from Washington Twp FD and Churubusco FD.  On arrival Engine 91 stretched an 1-3/4 and foam line to contain the combine fire as well as the field fire.  Fortunately the combine was close to the road, which made extinguisment more accessible.   Since the unit was full of corn, extensive overhaul was necessary.   Photos provided by Officer Gary Grant.
